At 1 p.m. on the September 28^th, with the happy sound of gongs and drums, New Century 111, Ocean Family’s first new-built large scale tuna purse seining vessel, has the successful launching in Fuzhou MaWei shipyard, realizing the new breakthrough on Chinese ocean fishery project. Mr. Zengyuexiang, the general manager of Ocean Family, and relevant principals from Taiwan Ching Fu Shipbuilding and MaWei ShipBuilding Ltd. also attend the ceremony of launching. 

    New Century 111 was under construction from November 22^th 2013, designed by Taiwan Ching Fu Shipbuilding and built by MaWei ShipBuilding Ltd. It’s the first vessel, which had the launching, out of Ocean Family’s two large scale tuna purse seining vessels which are under construction, with the length of 75.338m, breadth of 13.6m, engine power of 2646kw, gross tonnage of 1730t and biggest fish hold capacity of 1200t and advanced instruments such as navigation, fish detecting and etc. Each technological indicator of this vessel represents the most advanced standard of the whole world, being the largest and most advanced tuna purse seining vessel in China.

    After the completion of the construction, these two vessels will go for operation at the high sea of Western and Central Pacific and exclusive economic zones of Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, and etc., realizing the upgrading of ocean fishery industry, sufficiently utilizing the international tuna resource and efficiently promoting the development of the tuna industry chain of Ocean Family, further strengthening the international competitiveness, and having contribution for the progressing of Chinese ocean fishery from a big country to a strong country.
