NON-ENTANGLING FADS’ POLICY

ZHE JIANG OCEAN FAMILY CO., LTD. is committed to sustainable tuna harvest practices.  All managed-purse seine vessels have been distributed the ISSF Guide for Non-Entangling FADs. 

The Fleet complies with the following:

- All FAD deployments meet the minimum specifications listed in the ISSF Guide for Non-Entangling FADs.

- Will not deploy FADs that meet the description of “highest entanglement” contained in the ISSF Guide.

This policy applies to all new FAD deployments, regardless of the type of vessel that deploys FADs. The company supports the positive impacts on reducing pollution in the marine ecosystem, supporting efforts to strengthening monitoring and stock assessment and reducing impacts on habitats and sensitive non-target species.
