On December 19^th 2019, the Minister of women, youth, sports and social affairs of Kiribati leads the male and female football teams who won the championship at the 2019 National Sports Games of Kiribati to visit Zhoushan. Mr. Zengyuexiang, the vice chairman and the managing director of Ocean Family, talks with Mr. Minister and officials and tribal elders of the delegation, and has “the night of champion” party to bring young people from both countries together, adding the vivid and happy chapter to the friendship between the two countries.

On the same day, Ocean Family also organizes friends from Kiribati to visit Zhoushan’s cityscape, boarding islands, visiting fishing ports and viewing scenic spots, so that guests from the Pacific island country could experience the different island charm. During the tour, when visitors learned that the beautiful city in front of them was a small fishing village at 30 years ago, they were shocked and praised by the rapid development of China.

Mr. Minister keeps the memory of the Zhoushan cross-sea bridges during the trip, and mentions the importance of infrastructure construction more than once in his talks with Mr. Zeng. And Mr. Zeng also is proudly to tell Mr. Minister: Zhoushan has entered a high-speed development period since entering the era of bridges, attracting a lot of investment to Zhoushan. Although Kiribati’s current infrastructure is still very poor, as long as the country can make good utilization of resources, Kiribati will have a bright future. Through its investment in Kiribati, Ocean Family will further create more jobs for Kiribati, improve the level of Kiribati’s fishery modernization, and enhance Kiribati’s infrastructure.

In the evening, Oceania Family hosts “the night of champion” party to welcome the Kiribati young people who just won the championship.

In his speech at the party, Mr. Zeng once again expresses the warm welcome to the visiting of Kiribati youth football teams and presents the vision of achieving the sustainable development together with the people of Kiribati, encouraging young people in Kiribati to strive with their own hands to create a better future. 

In a happy atmosphere, Mr. Zeng presents the canned tuna products processed by Ocean Family with Kiribati tuna raw materials to Mr. Minister, and jointly opened the ceremony of the dissection show of Kiribati bigeye tuna. Zhoushan and Kiribati are closely linked, through fishery cooperation and friendly exchanges.

The grateful Kiribati guests express their thanks and joy with the joyful local dancing, and, together with local Zhoushan Xiaobaihua art troupe, presents the wonderful performance for the party.

As the first visiting non-governmental delegation after the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Kiribati, Kiribati guests fully appreciate the beauty and enthusiasm of Zhoushan, the advanceness of development and richness of Zhejiang Province in Hangzhou, Yiwu and Zhoushan, sowing the seeds of China–Kiribati friendship in their young hearts.
